None of the items should have a higher value than the book, seeing as how they could just buy a book and do it themselves...

Sell the book or get something you'd use.

Xiatsu, not technically true, while Amulet of Mysts retailed for 30K, some of the weps was trading for up to 40K.

Selling the item which gets you a green requires a player to take that item, finish the last boss and pick an item, ultimatly allowing more freedom. BUT selling the item removes the need for the effort to be put in. A player who has not completed nightfall can then get an end game green.

If you buy a weapon and sell it, be warned that the caster weapons are not that great, probably aim for a scythe, sword, shield or bow. check out the market in Kamadan for the going rates on the stuff. Or use it to give a new toon a head start.

Ah, true, I keep forgetting that not everyone has beaten the game and can just go kill him again to get into the Throne of Secrets, my bad

Yeah, look around in Kamadan or something and see which ones are selling for the most as mega_jamie said, it'll be your best bet.

In general, it seems that the Sundering Scythe and Spear seem to sell for quite a bit more then the value of the book, at least based on the prices I've seen on GWGuru auctions. So if you're inclined, trade for one of those and try to sell them.

Prices on those will probably drop though as more people complete the game with at least one character, and can do what the above person mentioned (buy the book and replay the last mission themselves).
